In addition, the number of tourists usually decreases after summer, making this an excellent period for those who want to explore Nuremberg at a slower pace.

Winter (December to February)

Winter in Nuremberg is cold, with temperatures usually between -2°C and 5°C, but it is also one of the most special times to visit the city.

In December, Nuremberg hosts the famous Christkindlesmarkt, considered one of the oldest and most traditional Christmas markets in the world. Hauptmarkt square becomes completely decorated with lights, traditional food stalls, handmade gifts and the famous German mulled wine (Glühwein).

For us, the charm of the medieval city fits perfectly with colder days. Walking through the cobblestone streets, visiting Kaiserburg Castle and having a warm coffee while the city is decorated for Christmas is a very special experience.

The Christkindlesmarkt transforms Nuremberg into a true fairy-tale setting, with lights, traditional foods and an atmosphere that represents German culture so well.

However, if you prefer milder temperatures and want to explore everything on foot comfortably, May, June and September are also excellent choices.
