Bernese cuisine
Bern's traditional cuisine is hearty and comforting. The most famous local dish is the Berner Platte, a generous platter of various meats (smoked pork, beef tongue, sausages) served with sauerkraut and potatoes. You will also find excellent Swiss cheese fondue, raclette, and rosti (crispy grated potato) throughout the city.
