Climate and seasons in Berlin
Berlin has a continental climate with well-defined seasons. The best time to visit depends on what you want to do and see in the city.
Summer (June to August)
Summer is peak season in Berlin, with temperatures between 20°C and 30°C and long days. Perfect for exploring parks like Tiergarten and enjoying outdoor festivals. However, accommodation prices rise and attractions get crowded.
Autumn (September to November)
Autumn brings golden colors and mild temperatures between 5°C and 15°C. A great time to walk around the city without summer heat or crowds.
Winter (December to February)
Berlin winters are cold, with temperatures between -5°C and 5°C. But it's also the season of famous German Christmas markets! We visited Berlin in winter and it was magical.
Spring (March to May)
Spring is when nature comes back to life. Temperatures range from 8°C to 18°C and parks are blooming. An excellent time to visit with lower prices and fewer tourists.
Our recommendation
For pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds, spring (April-May) and early autumn (September) are ideal. For Christmas markets, December is unmissable.
